Selling Tips
- In order for us to offer the latest and greatest in styles at value prices, clothing and accessories must be purchased within the last five years.
- Equipment and toys must meet current safety standards and include all parts. Not sure if your item qualifies? Bring it in and we’ll check it out!
- Check out our what we buy page to see what types of items we buy and sell, we know we buy items you have not even thought of!
- Be sure your apparel items are freshly laundered and in good condition – no stains, fading, or excessive wear.
- Clean toys and equipment sell best.
- It is most efficient for us to review items folded neatly in a box, bin or tote. Please, no hangers or garbage bags.
- It’s always a good idea to call us to find out about what we buy.

There is no appointment necessary and we pay you on-the-spot for items we can purchase from you.
Just gather up all of your children's new or gently used clothing, toys, books, dvds, furniture, equipment and everything else in between. Bring it in to the store and we'll quote you a "wait time" for how long it will take us to process your items.
We operate on a first-come/first-serve basis although our goal is to complete your buy for you while you shop. Unfortunately some days are busier than others and a wait time is warranted and will be communicated with our customers at the time they check in their items for purchase consideration. Feel free to stay and shop or return to our store 1 hour prior to close to review your quote. We participate in the same day pick up policy. You always have the option to pass on our offer if you'd prefer to keep your items. Upon acceptance of a buy offer you have the option to have your unpurchased items returned to you or to donate them. Once Upon A Child in Fort Collins collects your donated children's items and distributes them charities. Currently we are collecting donations for the Vineyard Outreach Program and HELP International.
Clothing, Toys & Equipment need to come in clean, have all of their parts and e in good working condition. Items cannot be on a recall list in order for Once Upon A Child to be able to make an offer on them. Cribs, changing table, toddler beds, etc. need to be assembled in the store to verify all parts are present. Items may be brought in already assembled.
At Once Upon A Child, safety and product quality are always our top priorities. For these reasons, there are some items we are unable to buy such as used carseats, used mattresses and recalled products which do not meet current Government Safety Standards.
